A Word from the Head
Girls at Badminton regularly achieve outstanding academic results and the School is currently placed number 13 in the Times newspaper league tables with 100% going on to university and 15% to Oxbridge. Girls leave Badminton not only having gained first rate results but having developed into thinking and independent young women.
Badminton is not narrowly selective academically. We admit girls who demonstrate all-round ability and enthusiasm. These excellent results are achieved by constant encouragement, development of lots of personal confidence and hard work, rather than sheer academic ability.
Badminton School is a school for boarding and day girls. In Badminton Senior School (11-18) the ratio of boarding to day is 60% to 40%. A small number of boarders are weekly boarders and we also have the facility for occasional boarding. Boarders need security, affection and lots to do at weekends and life is geared to keep them busy and fully occupied.
CURRICULUM
The School Curriculum reflects the career minded aspirations of both parents and pupils with an outstanding record of academic achievement and entry to higher education with particular excellence in Mathematics, Science, Music and Creative Arts. The emphasis at Badminton is on all round education and both the curriculum and the timetable are constructed to create this balance between academic achievement, personal development, life skills and other enterprising activity. Girls are involved in sports teams, music, Duke of Edinburgh, Young Enterprise and boarding activities right into the Sixth Form.
FACILITIES
The School has first class facilities including brand new boarding houses, the newly refurbished Casson Library housing fiction and reference libraries and computer resources, creative arts centre, indoor swimming pool, dedicated sixth form centre, music school and excellent sports facilities including all weather pitch, fitness centre, seven tennis and four netball courts as well as large gym.
