A Word from the Head

Leighton Park is a strong and supportive community, in which each individual is welcomed, nourished and celebrated. Set in a delightful park, our students have an enriching environment in which to learn, reflect and grow. With Quaker values held strongly at the centre of all that we do, we encourage our students to think, to listen, to reflect, and to seek truth.

You will be struck on visiting us by the warmth of relationships which characterise the school; the wealth of opportunities for development of body and mind; and the sense of calm and space in which that development is able to take place.

Do visit us, and see for yourself why the independent Good Schools Guide, 2010 states:

“Many schools vaunt their ‘special atmosphere’ but at Leighton Park it is tangible. One of the most distinctive schools we have visited – it gave us a renewed sense of hope for the future. More schools would do well to adopt the Leighton Park model ‘it has honesty and integrity at heart’.”

We are a co-educational day and boarding school of over 500 pupils aged 11-18, and from more than 20 countries. While our academic results are outstanding, the success of any school must be judged by the full range and depth of achievements of its students, and at Leighton Park we develop young people who understand, cherish, and make a difference to the world which they inherit, with all its history, diversity and fragility.

I look forward to meeting you,

Alex McGrath
Head
