Welcome to Lakeside School
Lakeside School was opened in January 2001, to cater for children with complex learning and communication difficulties, in the age range 5–13 years. It is a co-educational day special school, catering for Reception, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and in exceptional circumstances, children may
continue their schooling into years 7 and 8. Lakeside School adopts a holistic approach towards children and provides a high level of quality education and care. Mission Statement - Lakeside School seeks to encourage: physical and sensory development, educational development,
social and behavioural development, emotional development and communication skills development within the framework of the five critical objectives of “Resilience.”
• Developing ‘unconditional acceptance’ of the pupil as a person, whatever their disability.

• Promoting the skills and feeling of having some control over what happens in life.
