A Word from the Head
Be Part of our Success
Kent College is an outstanding co-educational day and boarding school for 3 to 18 year olds. The senior and junior campuses are situated half a mile apart overlooking the historic city of Canterbury and with easy access to all London airports.
Kent College is renowned as a particularly friendly and welcoming school with a strong family feeling. The school provides a challenging yet unfailingly supportive community that nurtures and develops an impressive range of talents and interests in order to enable every pupil to realise their full potential.
The high expectations of the school mean that pupils of all ages are given every opportunity and support to achieve academic excellence. The IB diploma is offered alongside our A-level courses.
The School can proudly boast that almost all sixth formers go on to their first choice University, including Oxford and Cambridge. This academic strength reflects the small class sizes and the quality of the teaching staff. A select number of pupils benefit from a specialist Dyslexia Support Centre and International Study Centre where pupils from overseas are given individual support.
At the entry points of 11, 13 and 16 Academic, Sport, Music, Art and Drama Scholarships are awarded to pupils with exceptional talents. Kent College is also able to offer means tested bursaries of up to 100% from the age of 8.
There are four boarding houses on the senior campus, two for boys and two for girls, each with house parents for whom this is their family residence. The junior school is able to offer boarding from the age of 7 in an extremely comfortable and home like environment. Students and parents benefit from flexibility as the school provides termly, weekly and occasional boarding.
An excellent array of sports facilities enables Kent College teams to make formidable competitors in any sport. Hockey is a particular strength, with regular representation in County and National squads.
The Music Centre offers state of the art facilities for all aspects of the subject including a recording studio. The provision for Music is now amongst the best in the country.
A huge range of extracurricular activities is available from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, to debating. A distinctive aspect of the school is that we have a thriving school farm and developing equine centre.
