A Word from the Head

Saint Ronan’s School is set in 247 acres of beautiful Wealden Countryside - it has its own 100 acre wood, lakes, a pinetum, pitches for all the main sports, a golf course, tennis courts, a shooting range and a covered swimming pool. The School is set in Tongswood Hall - a large, rambling Victorian mansion.

Saint Ronan’s is a family school and many people comment on the informal and happy atmosphere as well as the good results (see the “Good Schools Guide”).

The School is has no formal entrance exam although we like children to spend a day in the School before being offered a place.

A broad and balanced curriculum is offered based on the ISEB syllabus and extends beyond the National Curriculum. The academic results are excellent with 100% pass rate at Common Entrance. We prepare children for scholarships to major independent schools such as Eton, Sevenoaks, Benenden ,Tonbridge, Harrow and King’s Canterbury. We also prepare children for entry to local Grammar Schools and boast an enviable record here.

Music, Art and Drama play an important role at Saint Ronan’s. A new Art and Music Department opened in 2002 and the majority of children learn at least one musical instrument.

The major sports are football, netball, hockey and cricket but we also offer rugby, athletics, tennis, swimming, dance, golf, cross country, shooting, judo, archery and riding. The list is growing!

We also have a large range of extra curricular activities including cookery, chess, carpentry, gardening and pottery- as well as extra drama and art.

Saint Ronan’s is a Registered Charity, no 1066420/0. It exists for the advancement of education of its children.
