A Word from the Head

Emmanuel School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 years in the Mount Pleasant area of Exeter. We opened in January 1994. The school follows the distinctive curriculum known as 'Accelerated Christian Education' (ACE). All the staff are Christians. The school is not part of an individual church or denomination and while pupils attend 15 churches in and around Exeter, some have no church background.

The school is run as a parents' co-operative. Parents agree to help in the school for around four hours each week per family. They can choose to send their children to the school either full-time or combined with home schooling. There are currently 35 pupils on roll, with 3 additional pupils who attend part-time in combination with home schooling.

The school is committed to promoting flexible educational opportunities for its pupils, based on Christian principles. We believe that learning should be a life-long, joyful experience, within a Biblical framework. The school's mission statement, published in the prospectus is; ‘To train young people to be academically equipped for life, spiritually aware and socially balanced.'
