Mrs Jennie Phillips

The Headmistress of Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep & Nursery is Mrs Jennie Phillips. A graduate of Exeter University, she is passionate about providing a creative and challenging learning environment for young children.

Jennie Phillips says:

"We believe that learning should be relevant, meaningful, enjoyable, and personalised for the individual. We do our utmost to ensure every day is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone in the school community. Through our teaching we equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be able to make informed choices in other areas of their lives. Here, strong characteristics such as resilience, effective communication, reflection and resourcefulness are promoted. This foundation is built upon when the children move on to preparatory schools, in the Haberdashers' family.

I am very lucky to have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff, who work very hard to ensure that each and every child feels valued and happy. The small class sizes and excellent support staff allow us to know and understand our children extremely well.

We are blessed with beautiful grounds, which provide endless opportunities for learning through discovery, forest school activities and fun. The chickens and ducks, pond and vegetable garden encourage children to explore animal habitats and plant growth, as well as encouraging children to take responsibility for their own surroundings. We also have an excellent array of play equipment to encourage athletic and imaginative play.

We are pleased to offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, taking place at lunch time or after school. These allow the children to try different activities and pursue new interests. There is an option to suit each child due to the diverse range of choices available.

Our website will provide you with a snapshot of life here, but I urge you to visit us and see the difference we can make for yourself."
