Welcome to Barrow Hills School, an independent, co-educational day school and nursery welcoming girls and boys from 2 to 13 years of age.
Barrow Hills is renowned for its family atmosphere and happy children. Our outcomes speak for themselves, with “very successful students within the formal curriculum and beyond”. The child’s own journey towards this accomplishment is vital, with “pupils’ social development of the highest quality” (Inspectorate 2022). These courteous, sociable, and responsible children are at the heart of all that we do; we pride ourselves in valuing every child with skilled educators and individual attention. It’s a very warm community, aspirational but values-driven and grounded.
Our Barrow Hills family also has the unique advantage of governance by the Bridewell Royal Hospital Foundation and close affiliation with our partner school, Kings Edward’s Witley. We benefit from centuries of charitable history, links to the City of London and the generous shared resource an independent senior school provides.

Teaching at Barrow Hills is based on the understanding that children vary in academic ability, learn and mature at different rates and discover areas of the curriculum which they enjoy and excel at. Our class sizes allow for more individual attention from staff, who value and understand every child and spend quality time with them to enhance their learning and confidence. The intimate atmosphere is a particular strength of the school and enables us to build warm relationships with our families.

Our children are challenged within a positive, diverse community of learners and are stretched at a time appropriate to them, helping them to aspire to achieve their individual best. Balanced with an ethos of strong pastoral care, children become well rounded high achievers.

Our extensive grounds provide excellent facilities that encourage play and exploration. Throughout the school we provide children with an environment in which to experiment and develop their talents. They experience a wide variety of activities in order to develop their abilities without fear of failure.
