The New Year brought a new head to Blundell's, one of the West Country's oldest schools. Nicola Huggett moved to Devon from Downe House School in Berkshire where she was deputy head. She read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University and, after a brief career in advertising with J Walter Thompson Ltd, moved into teaching in 1994.
Speaking of her role at Blundell's, which was founded in 1604, Nicola said 'At the start of this new chapter in the long history of Blundell's, I feel immensely privileged to have been given such an opportunity to contribute to the heritage of this very special school.'
Nicola has a keen love of music and, in the sporting arena, she has competed in the London Marathon and played Club Hockey, was Captain of her College Boat Club and was President of the Oxford University Riding Club. As a talented horse rider she competed in several international two star level 3-day events. Nicola is married and has four children.
