Dean Close sponsors Stephen Fry at Cheltenham Literature Festival 2010

DCS was privileged to support Stephen Fry at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, a sell-out event. Five fortunate pupils went behind the scenes for a private meeting with him which was fascinating and he talked about his new autobiography, The Fry Chronicles, to the auditorium. The audience were in stitches as he spoke about his 'addiction' to Sugarpuffs and sweets; also the irony of being sponsored by a school having been excluded from so many in his youth! He also mentioned his time at Cambridge & Footlights, his first glimpse of Emma Thompson and friendships with Hugh Laurie and Ben Elton.
