ACS Egham students enjoy pancake races

Published Thursday 7th of March 2013 10:33:40 AM

ACS Egham students, aged four to eleven, raced against each other to be crowned the fastest pancake team.

Similar to a traditional egg and spoon race, each student ran with a tortilla pancake in a frying pan. The pupils had to be the quickest team without dropping their cargo, for a chance to make it through to the day's final.

Working in teams, students competed in the relay-style races, each passing over the frying pan and swapping aprons like a baton. Back by popular demand, teachers joined in with their own special race, with students cheering on encouragement.

Cindy Blanes, Lower School Principal, commented:

'The Lower School pancake races are always hotly anticipated and classes can be found planning their tactics days in advance. It is always lovely to see the students work together with such enthusiasm and to hear them cheering each other on, as well as their teachers!'
