Well-Versed Pupils Enjoy Meeting a Poet

Published Monday 15th of April 2013 09:58:54 AM

Before the Easter break boys from Aldwickbury School and pupils from local primary schools were treated to a two day workshop with author Fred Sedgwick.
The sessions not only provided an opportunity for the children to develop their Literacy skills, but also enabled them to work with pupils from different primary schools.
Forty eight boys and girls were invited to Aldwickbury School for the day; they worked alongside Year 6 boys from Aldwickbury and together, with the expert guidance of Fred Sedgwick, brought poetry alive.
The workshops were a great success and staff were delighted by the way in which the children worked and with the quality of the poems they produced. 'Freddie Stayton, from Aldwickbury School, said, 'An inspirational day with an inspirational poet. Thank you Fred Sedgwick.'
