ACS EGHAM STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR EQUINE FRIENDS

Published Friday 19th of April 2013 11:34:22 AM

Six students from ACS Egham International School recently raised over 250 for a horse welfare charity after organising and taking part in a sponsored horse trek around Windsor Great Park.

The money raised will be donated to the British Horse Society (BHS), the largest horse welfare charity in the UK, helping to support their work of investigating reports of equine abuse, and improve the lives of horses, ponies and donkeys across the country.

Kate Loveday, a teacher at ACS Egham who organised the trek and runs the ACS Egham Horse Riding Club commented:

After trekking around 8 miles in the park, the students were slightly saddle-sore but thrilled by how much money they had raised for the British Horse Society. Thanks to the generous support of everyone who sponsored us, this money will make a real difference to the charitys work. Students are taught about horse welfare but this was a great way for them to do something practical to support equines in distress, and hopefully it will become a regular fixture for the ACS Egham Riding Club.
