Lots pledged to date include a day's shooting with an Olympic pistol shooter and centre court tickets for Wimbledon, as well as a variety of holiday homes and official programmes for the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games signed by Lord Coe.

There will also be a Grand Draw with a star prize of to win a ski holiday for two to Val d'Isere.

Laura Weston, Director of Development at Sherborne Girls, who has been co-ordinating the event, says: 'We have got off to a very encouraging start with ticket sales and have attracted a lot of support already from a host of local businesses. This high-profile event promises to be the highlight of the summer social calendar!'
