GCSE results day at Greshams arrived on 22 August with the School proud to announce another great set of results, seeing an increase in the number of students attaining the top grades at A* to B to 76.8%.

With reports in the news that the proportion of GCSE exam entries awarded top grades has dropped, for the second year in a row, the School is delighted with this rise in results and highlights the hard work and commitment of our pupils and dedicated teaching from our academic staff.

Some of our pupils who achieved outstanding results included:
Grace Pitkethly and Esme Haywood who both achieved 11A* and an A in AO Mathematics.

Esme said I am delighted with my results and I would like to thank my teachers for all their commitment and brilliant teaching which has helped me achieve these results. Esme plans to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme next year.
Tom Dowd 9A*, 1A, 1B
Hugo Woodhouse 9A*, 1A
George Bartram gained 9A*, 1B and an A in AO Mathematics
Harriet Shaw 8A*, 2As

Hannah Schmidt-Wolf, a boarder from Germany, achieved 10A* and 1B and will go on to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme next year. She says her current plans when she leaves school are to study Economics at an American university. She said she was delighted that all the hard work had paid off.

Unusually this year three sets of twins sat their GCSEs at the School, achieving fantastic results: Noah and Zachary Horne-Morris, Harry and Freddie Gayfer and Christopher and Hugo Woodhouse.

The Headmaster, Mr Philip John, stated that he was very pleased with this year's GCSE results. An increase in the number of students attaining the top grades at A* to B to 76.8% was particularly encouraging. Mr John went on to say that the results were a credit to all the pupils who had clearly worked very hard.
