Hazlegrove pupils Daisy Davies and Sam Cobb have enjoyed success recently representing Great Britain at the European Biathle Championships in Portugal. A "biathle" consists of a continuous run-swim-run and this competition comes under the umbrella of Pentathlon GB. This is a new sporting event for Hazlegrove pupils and qualification for their places in the team was gained during a local competition in the summer term.

At the Championships, both Daisy and Sam were proud to be wearing their brand new GB kit and delighted to be part of winning teams for Great Britain with Daisy finishing 3rd and Sam finishing 5th individually in their respective groups. Since returning from Portugal they have been to the British Championships in Manchester where they achieved further success by coming 2nd in their groups, qualifying for the World Championships in the process. These take place in Cyprus at the beginning of October and we wish Daisy and Sam the best of luck!
