Blundell's cheers on Tour of Britain cyclists

Blundell's pupils turned out in force to cheer on cyclists in the Tour of Britain race when the route went past the school. They were lucky enough to see top international cyclists including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish taking part in the sprint right outside Blundell's. Many of the pupils made signs to speed the cyclists on, including Year 10 chemists who had used the chemistry lesson prior to the race to fashion chemical symbols into messages for the cyclists.
Blundell's Head Nicola Huggett said: 'We were very excited that the Tour of Britain cycle race passed right by the school. Our pupils are keen sports men and women so it was a privilege for them to see what these elite cyclists achieve through their hard work and dedication. The entire school was cheering on the cyclists as they sprinted past.'
