Spratton Hall win Bedford Modern Hockey Festival

Spratton Hall 1st VII Girls' Hockey team competed in the Bedford Modern Hockey Festival on Saturday 28th September 2013.They started with a 5-0 win over Stamford A team. Captain Grace Turberville Smith scored 3 of the 5 goals scored. Spratton followed this with a 4-0 win over Wisbech. They then played Bedford Modern B team and won 7-0. Their winning form continued against Town Close with a 3-0 victory. As a result, Spratton won their section and played Felsted in the semi-final. After Spratton opened the scoring, Felsted equalised and the match was forced into extra time. Spratton managed to snatch the victory with an excellent goal which meant Spratton faced Wellingborough in the final. Spratton again opened the scoring and despite Wellingborough equalising, Spratton went on to win the tournament with a final goal. This was an excellent festival of hockey and the girls' commitment and determination paid off with an outstanding performance to win every match.
