'Hey Ewe!'

The Reception class at St Benedict's Junior School, Ealing staged an amusing and thoughtful Nativity play on Tuesday 10th December. 'Hey Ewe!' presented the Christmas story through the eyes of a sheep to a rapt audience of parents and children from other classes.

As another ordinary, grass-eating day for the sheep on the hills is coming to an end one curious sheep cannot believe his eyes as a man and lady walk by with a donkey, followed by a chorus of angels singing in the sky. This is going to be no ordinary night! The other sheep are not interested and just want to go to sleep, but the curious sheep cannot be deterred and follows the shepherds to Bethlehem. He notices the crib looks hard and uncomfortable and offers his cosy fleece for Baby Jesus to lay on and is thanked by a smiling Mary and Joseph.

Emma Kottler, Reception Form Tutor, said: 'The children said their words and sang their songs with such enthusiasm, it was hard not to smile and be swept away with this retelling of the Nativity from the sheep's point of view. We must surely have a few budding actors in our midst! Well done Reception class. Your teachers and parents are very proud of you!
