Published Monday 24th of February 2014 12:23:33 PM

More than 240 pupils took part in Dauntsey's Annual Dance Show last week. The audience was treated to a wide variety of dance styles including cheerleading, contemporary, musical theatre, commercial and street dance.

Kirsty Glynn , Dauntsey's Head of Dance, said: 'All of the pupils have spent months preparing for this show. The high standard of dance and depth of creativity clearly demonstrated the hours of work that have gone into rehearsals. We were particularly pleased to see great teamwork between pupils who worked together brilliantly. Most importantly, everyone had a lot of fun!'

Drama at Dauntsey's School:
There are many opportunities to enjoy dance at Dauntsey's School and classes are open to all pupils, both boys and girls, experienced dancers and those who are new to this discipline. Street, modern dance, contemporary dance and cheerleading are all popular sessions and each year a dance show reflects the work done in these classes.

Dance is also taught as part of the Drama Curriculum to all First and Second Form pupils. It is also one of the options in the Lower Sixth General Studies programme and is offered as a games option to senior pupils.
