Irish storyteller, Niall de Burca, returns to ACS Hillingdon to deliver a series of captivating storytelling performances.

Holding traditional storytelling workshops in countries as diverse as Poland, Argentina, Italy and The Netherlands, Niall de Burca is internationally recognised for his energetic and animated style of storytelling. He was specifically chosen by ACS Hillingdon for his ability to interact with the children and capture their imagination.

This enthusiasm was displayed as he performed traditional Irish tales as well as stories from other cultures to Hillingdon students aged between four and fourteen.

His performances inspired both the teachers and students, demonstrating the cultural importance of storytelling. Older students also studied his presentation, looking at the structure of the stories and the skills involved to deliver an engaging presentation.

Lower school librarian, Peggy Travers, commented:

'All of the stories and performances were incredible, keeping both students and teachers on the edge of their seats. It was an amazing experience and even more enjoyable to see the delight on the faces of the younger children.'
