Oakham School continues to be a training ground for nationally acclaimed sailors.

Old Oakhamian Emily Nagel (aged 20, from Oakham) has been selected to sail in the GB team at the World University Match Racing Championships in Italy this summer. During her time at Oakham, Emily had a number of successes including winning bronze medals for Great Britain in the European Team Racing Championships in Venice.

Other recent leavers, Isabel Scruby (20, Saffron Walden) and Toni Duffy (19, Oakham) won the Ladies National Team Racing Championships, held in February, sailing for Birmingham University Team. Isabel and Toni both learnt to sail whilst at Oakham School.

Oakham's current sailors have also had some exceptional successes in recent times; as well as excelling at the Feva World Sailing Championships held in Grosseto, Italy, they also won top school and 2nd overall at the world's biggest team racing event, the National Youth & Junior team racing championships at Farmoor Reservoir, Oxford.
