ACS Cobham students joined other competitors for the first official swim to be held at the London Aquatics Centre since the London 2012 Olympic Games.

As part of the International Schools Sports Tournament (ISST) Swimming Championships, over 200 students from 13 international schools aged between 13 and 18, took part in the 2014 ISST Swimming Championships including ACS Cobhams sister school, ACS Hillingdon.

ACS Cobhams 20-strong Cougar swimming team took part in 36 events including individual and team events.

The London Aquatic Centre, which opened to the public this month, has been taken over by Greenwich London Leisure and is also now home to the British National Diving Centre and the official training venue for 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist, Tom Daly.

Dave Schuchter, Head of Sport, Leisure and Physical Education at ACS Cobham and host for the ISST Swimming Championships, commented:

We were asked if we would be interested in using the London Aquatics Centre as the site for our championships and it was really hard to say 'no'! We felt that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for our international school student-athletes to experience swimming at the former site of the 2012 Olympic Games.
