Kingshott pupils celebrate Valentine's Day by putting their hearts (and backs) into Heartwood Forest!

On Valentine's Day, Year 4 children from Kingshott School in Hertfordshire joined a tree planting initiative being run by the Woodland Trust. They really did put their hearts into it, by planting 556 Hazelnut trees in the space of 1 hours! The Woodland Trust provided the saplings and the shovels and the children supplied the effort. The aim of the initiative is to generate a huge area of woodland across the county, to be known as Heartwood Forest.

It was a great way for the children to feel part of the 'eco movement' and is a strong part of understanding what it means to be a good citizen... plus it was great FUN!
