Thirty six students from ACS Egham International School, aged 17 to 18, recently celebrated the achievements of their final year at the schools annual graduation ceremony.

Attended by over three hundred parents, teachers and friends, the ceremony marked the end of the students time at the school having recently completed their High School Diplomas, studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The IBDP is an internationally recognised qualification that will allow the graduates to apply to universities around the world.

A highlight of this years ceremony came from student Nathan Hartman, who was elected by his fellow classmates to deliver a speech on their behalf. Hartmans address included memories of his own experience as a student at ACS Egham, as well as a big thank you to the teaching faculty and staff.

Caroline Bruhn and Nada Eldaief also delivered speeches in recognition of their longevity as students within the school. Stephen Huang, the Valedictorian (student recognised for the highest academic achievement), also gave a speech, focusing on the key theme of change.
As well as student speeches, ACS Eghams Head of School, Jeremy Lewis, also welcomed guest speaker Sir Clive Gillinson, CBE, Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall in New York, and former Managing Director of the London Symphony Orchestra. Presenting on a variety of inspirational topics, Sir Clive Gillinson focused on the importance of values in a changing world.

High School Principal, Richard Naylor, who also made an address, commented:

All the students have put a huge amount of work into their studies, especially over the past several months, so it was great to see them unite and celebrate their achievements. A particular highlight of the ceremony came from Nathan, Stephen, Caroline and Nada who delivered some excellent speeches which really seemed to capture the essence of this momentous celebration.
