Fifty-eight students from ACS Hillingdon International School aged 17 to 18 recently celebrated the achievements of their final year at the schools annual graduation ceremony.

Attended by over three hundred parents, teachers and friends, the ceremony marked the culmination of the students education at the school having completed their secondary programme, studying either the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP), the Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum or the Honours High School Diploma.

The IBDP is an internationally recognised qualification that will allow graduates to apply to universities around the world while the Advanced Placement curriculum is a rigorous programme that enables students to earn valuable credits recognised at universities in over forty countries.

A highlight of this years ceremony came from students, Michael Taricone and Aaron Merrit who were elected by their fellow classmates to speak on their behalf. Student speeches included a touching thank you to parents and staff at ACS Hillingdon followed by amusing recollections of their time at Hillingdon.
As well as student speeches, ACS Hillingdon also welcomed guest speaker and acclaimed Irish author and storyteller, Niall de Burca, who inspired the audience with tales of his own career, explaining the importance of motivation and following your dreams.

High School Principal, Dawn Ekstrom, commented on the ceremony:

The final months of Grade 12 require a huge amount of commitment and hard work so its very satisfying to see the students come together and celebrate their achievements. Congratulations to the graduates and thank you to all the staff and Niall de Burca for delivering such an excellent ceremony.
