Sherborne Girls student Georgie Lane has returned from the Biathle World Tour Event in Germany having secured fifth place in her age group.

The fifteen year old competed in Youth B Girls - for those aged 15 and 16 - in the event which consisted of a 1000 metre run, followed immediately by a 200 metre open water swim, followed immediately by another 1000 metre run. She explained, "Representing GB was an amazing experience and I felt really well supported by the positive team spirit, so I was delighted (and relieved!) to get a top five placing for my age group."

Georgie returned from Germany only last week and went straight on to compete in the Pony Club Tetrahlon Qualifiers, securing a place for the National Championships being held in Yorkshire in August. She said, "The Biathle World Tour has certainly inspired me - I just recorded a new PB for swimming this weekend and with the Nationals now in sight, I'm training hard and feeling really determined!"
