Thorpe House Pre-Prep raise almost 3000 for the RNLI!

Last month the Year 2 House captains at Thorpe House School in Gerrards Cross presented a cheque for 2910.10 to Malcolm Goodgame, the Chairman of the Chalfont's branch of the RNLI and the branch Treasurer, Cyril Black.

The boys raised the money doing a huge array of fundraising activities including (but not limited to!) a coin trail around the school, wearing silly or odd socks for the day, sponsored egg and spoon races, bake sales, wearing mufti and bringing in a packed lunch so the kitchen could donate the money that would have been spent on their hot lunch.

The boys chose the RNLI as their designated charity because of the fantastic work the charity has done for the local areas worst hit by the winter floods.

Ros Swede, the teacher who facilitated the fundraising comments:

'The boys had lots of fun taking part in all the activities during Charity Week. The enthusiasm for the themes of lifeboats, water and rescue was evident, particularly after a talk from a representative from the RNLI who explained the amazing work the charity does. This was reinforced by Mr Goodgame, who reminded us that money raised for the RNLI enables many lives to be saved. Thank you to all parents for their generous support.'
