Pupils from Oakham School have once again enjoyed a successful summer, with an impressive set of results at GCSE, A Level and for the IB. Pupils have been celebrating their excellent achievements over the summer, as well as admissions to top universities.

Oakhams summer of success began with the IB results at the start of July, which were considerably higher than the national average. Overall, 49% of students achieved 36 or more points, which is equivalent to 3 As at A Level. One pupil attained an outstanding full marks and another gained 44 out of the possible 45 points.

Oakhams success continued with A Level results in August as students achieved a 100% pass rate for the third year running, 27 gaining straight A*/A grades and 71% of exams were awarded A*-B grades. Leavers will now go on to study a wide range of subjects at some of the best universities in the UK and around the world.

Excellent GCSE results rounded off the series of achievements, with even more pupils achieving straight A*/A grades. The total number of A* grades awarded across the year group was higher than last year an impressive 32% in total.

Headmaster Nigel Lashbrook commented that these GCSE results bring to an end what has been an excellent year for the School in every respect from the ISI inspectors giving Oakham top marks at the beginning of the academic year, through to the excellent IB and A Level results our pupils have already achieved this summer.
