ACS Egham High School celebrates International Spirit Week

Over 200 High School students at ACS Egham recently celebrated their multicultural community by taking part in the school's annual International Spirit Week.

The week began with 'International Day' where students wore their national home dress. Pupils then enjoyed a new dress code on each day, with themes including 'Onesie Wednesday' and 'Suits Thursday'. Throughout the week, pupils displayed their passion and creativity by producing some eye-catching costumes and with some even co-ordinating their outfits in groups.

The week culminated in a 'Halloween Friday' theme with pupils wearing fancy dress costumes and kitchen staff producing a special menu for the day. Students who had showed the most spirit throughout the week were presented with awards as voted for by the Student Council. Parents also played their part in the school's celebrations and kindly donated sweets in aid of a candy drive for all students.

David Rea, Student Council coordinator, commented:

'Each year we look forward to International Spirit Week and celebrating our diverse community. The inventive costumes that our pupils produce are always great conversation starters and create wonderful opportunities for everyone to share their common interests and learn more about each other.'
