Prior's Field September 2018

Aldwickbury Expands

Aldwickbury has really good news which underlines the strength of the school at the moment.

The places at Aldwickbury for new pupils this September have been heavily oversubscribed, and the School cannot currently meet the demand for entry into both Reception and Year 4. This is a wonderful position to be in, given the general economic climate which is seeing a number of other prep schools suffering from falling numbers. Currently there is a very strong interest in the school for admission for the next couple of years which bodes well for the future.

The Headmaster, with the Governors and members of the Senior Management Team, believe it gives the school an ideal opportunity to increase the capacity provided in those two year groups. Therefore in September there will be three form entry in Reception and Year 4.

Having said that, a major attraction of Aldwickbury has always been the intimate feeling that the school fosters. So, although there will be three classes in those two year groups, each form will be smaller than the present two. This will allow teachers to give even more individual time and attention to the boys, and the quality of education will remain of a very high standard. Even though the overall number of pupils will increase Aldwickbury will still retain the small and friendly feel that is so important both to parents and staff. It is something that will absolutely not be compromised.

In these challenging times it is delightful that the demand for Aldwickbury is so high, and that the fact we are able to expand at this time is testament to all that is good about Aldwickbury School. The over-riding aim is to ensure that Aldwickbury remains strong and buoyant in the coming years, so that the plans to further enhance the educational provision for the boys at Aldwickbury can continue.
