Brentwood Preparatory School has jumped 26 places in the list of top 100 prep schools in the UK its highest ever ranking.

Confirming its status as one of the highest-achieving independent preparatory schools, Brentwood moved up to 32nd place in The Sunday Times annual Parent Power guide released yesterday.

Headmaster Jason Whiskerd said: We are delighted with this result and it is a clear indicator of the quality teaching and learning which is taking place at Brentwood Prep. The results are based on three years worth of KS2 SATs results and this truly highlights significant progress over that time span.

Brentwoods previous best performance in The Sunday Times annual league table was 47th spot in 2012. For the first time this year, the newspaper produced a new list amalgamating the outcomes of its two main tables - the top 500 state primary schools and the top 100 preparatory schools - to produce a joint ranking allowing parents to compare the performance of schools relative to one another across both state and fee-paying schools. Brentwood Prep was placed 73rd in this Parent Power list of the top 600 state primary and independent preparatory schools in the UK.

Results in English and Mathematics at Brentwood Prep have improved year-on-year without reducing the broad curriculum on offer. Pupils participate in over four hours of sport a week, at least two hours of Music and all have Drama lessons. In addition, over 60 co-curricular clubs are on offer each week.
