Fully funded scholarship on offer for local student to attend top international school

Local independent international school, ACS Hillingdon, on Vine Lane, Hillingdon, is once again offering a fully funded, two year International Baccalaureate Diploma scholarship programme to an academically outstanding Year 11 pupil from a local state school.
Starting in the next academic year, Autumn 2015, the scholarship is worth well in excess of £40k over two years and is designed to enhance the academic success and broaden the horizons of a bright and ambitious individual. Applicants must be predicted to achieve a minimum five Grade As at GCSE, and be keen to progress to a top university. Interested pupils have until the end of January to apply.
The IB Diploma programme is highly valued by universities and employers the world over. Academically challenging, it is widely recognised as the best preparation for university, spanning a wider field of study than single subject A levels.

In addition to an excellent academic experience, the scholarship will provide a rich, varied and exciting programme of activities spanning sports, music and drama. Plus, with global citizenship an integral part of school life, some overseas travel is also likely to be high on the agenda. This summer, for example, many ACS Hillingdon pupils have raised funds and undertaken volunteer work at an orphanage in Bulgaria.
Linda LaPine, Head of School at ACS Hillingdon says: 'This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for the right pupil to benefit from a world-class education whilst making lifelong friends from across the globe and maintaining their home living environment and friendship circles.'

'This scholarship presents a once in a lifetime opportunity for a local pupil to fulfil their academic ambitions and forge lifelong friendships across the globe,' said ACS Hillingdon's Head of School, Linda LaPine. 'I strongly urge any young person looking for a challenging future and predicted to achieve excellent grades next summer to apply now for our scholarship.'
Eligibility is wide with applications accepted from pupils currently studying at a local state school and with a family / household income of up to £55k pa.

Following an initial written application, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a non-committal visit to ACS Hillingdon to meet teachers and current pupils and get the feel of the school before any formal offers or decisions are made.
