St John's Little Tots head to Chepstow Library

Published Monday 9th of March 2015 06:08:02 PM

St John's Year 1 students visited Chepstow Library this week dressed as their favourite characters from popular children's books such as Peter Pan, Tick Tock Croc, Queen Elza, Knights and Winnie the Witch, to name but a few. Chepstow Librarian, Sue began the visit by reading a popup book called 'The very lazy ladybird' and then explained how a library works with its amazing range of genres for all ages. She then read another book - her favourite called the 'Gruffalo' by Julia Donaldson -and the children enjoyed chanting along to the story. Sue then gave the children a tour of the library and introduced them to the extensive range of fiction and non-fiction books, videos, DVDs, talking books, CDs, magazines and newspapers. After that they were given time to explore the Library and very quietly and carefully share books with their friends. Children who had brought along their library cards also had time to select some books to take home to share with family and friends.
