Canford Pupils on Career Fast Track

Published Friday 13th of March 2015 02:29:35 PM

Many congratulations to two Canfordians who have recently gained places on corporate career programmes.

Aryan Shekhalian will start an eight month placement as an associate with top management consultancy Accenture in September 2015. The route to this outstanding achievement was lengthy and intensive, involving an initial application, online assessment, CV review and a telephone interview before selection for first round interviews at Accentures head office in London. A final round presentation and partner interviews again in London before an offer was made.

Meanwhile Ben Heyman has been awarded a place on the graduate training programme with perhaps the UKs most distinguished financial consultancy Price Waterhouse Coopers. Students have voted PWC the number one Graduate Employer in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey for the last 11 years. Bens award includes sponsorship funding through Newcastle University, with summer placements in various departments within the company, and a guaranteed job following his degree course.

Michael Doherty, Head of Careers, is delighted for both pupils on their excellent achievements:

Places on these corporate schemes are highly sought after and competition is fierce. Both Aryan and Ben have done exceptionally well to win places with these leading organisations. Both careers and business studies departments provided interview training and guidance during the application processes, but ultimately their fine achievements are down to them!

These successes coincide with the achievements of other Canfordians who have secured places on graduate schemes post-university in 2015. Maya Graffy and John Craigmyle start work for PWC and Ernst and Young respectively this year. Aryan and Ben also follow in the footsteps of Charlotte Murphy and Albert Thornton who won places on the Accenture and Deloitte school leaver graduate schemes before them.
