ACS Hillingdon inspires new generation of authors

Published Monday 16th of March 2015 03:09:43 PM

Lower School students at ACS Hillingdon will be able to proudly introduce themselves as published authors, thanks to Lower School Librarian Peggy Travers, who arranged for a book of their stories and poems to be published. They received the proof copy of the book in time for World Book Day on 5th March 2015 and it will be published around Easter time.

As creative and literary inspiration, students received a visit from storyteller Niall de Burca.

Peggy said:

'Everyone is very excited about the book. Students of all ages have contributed; older students have submitted both a story and a poem, while younger students have enjoyed writing stories as a class.

'A visit from storyteller, Niall de Burca, was particularly inspiring for students. Niall had the students on the edge of their seats from the moment they sat down and he extended his love of stories to all who listened to him. It has been wonderful to see students get motivated to write.'

Educational publishing company Scholastic will publish the book. Please contact Peggy Travers at ACS Hillingdon, via ptravers@acs-schools.com before 20th March to order your copy.
