Banding together to show support

Published by Sibford School on Tuesday 31st of March 2015

Pupils at Sibford School near Banbury, Oxfordshire, marked the last day of term by paying to wear bandanas in a bid to raise funds for cancer charities.

The action was in support of Sixth Form student, Angus Oakey, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Thomas Meredith, a fellow Sixth Form student at the Quaker School, said: 'We do lots of things to raise money for charity but this was different. Everyone realises cancer is out there but when it happens to one of your friends it really brings it home. This is our way of showing support to both Angus and his family.'
