Egham Students Wear Onesies For World Autism Awareness Day

Published Monday 13th of April 2015 02:08:56 PM

The focus of World Autism Awareness Week 2015, which runs from 27th March to 2nd April, is to 'Stand out for Autism', with the aim to raise awareness and support for those living with autism and their families.

The six to ten year-olds raised £110, which will be donated to the Linden House Day Centre in Godalming. Linden House is a day service for adults with autism that provides educational, recreational and vocational training.

Jade Palmer, ACS Egham teacher, organised the fundraiser and commented:

"It was a fun day for the children to dress up, but the most important part was deepening the children's understanding of autism and increasing awareness."
