ACS Hillingdon students explore Eden

Published Thursday 7th of May 2015 03:33:44 PM

International Baccalaureate (IB) students studying science subjects at ACS Hillingdon recently visited the Eden Project in Cornwall.

The 16-17 year olds are studying biodiversity (the variation of life on earth), sustainable environment (learning how to protect and maintain our environment), and ecology (how organisms interact with their environments). At the Eden Project they had the opportunity to participate in professionally led workshops, which were adapted to meet the IB course specifications.

Dr. Neelu Sharma, Head of Science and Community Action Service Coordinator at ACS Hillingdon International School commented:

Visiting the Eden Project gives students a unique learning experience that helps them to understand our interdependence on plants. The students were particularly amazed by the Biomes (the large domes in which the plants are housed). They really enjoyed seeing and feeling the tropical environments.
