Over 250 students from ACS International Schools recently attended a UCAS Day to explore their future Higher Education options. Hosted by ACS Cobham, Grade 11 students from ACS Hillingdon, ACS Egham and ACS Cobham were invited to attend a variety of over 50 presentations and workshops, ranging from how to make the most of an open day and interview skills sessions, to personal statement workshops and how to prepare an art portfolio. University Counsellor, Ryan Hinchey, commented: “For many students, it is difficult to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their lives at 16 or 17 years old. UCAS Day allows them to explore the endless possibilities of what Higher Education can bring to them in their future.” Alongside these sessions, students also had the opportunity to speak to representatives from over 25 universities, including the University of Oxford, University College London and Durham University, about courses and the student experience. Ryan added: “Our students have worked hard in their academic and extracurricular activities, so to hear from the universities that these honors and activities are what sets them apart from other applicants is truly invaluable.”
