ACS Cobham Lower School performs magical tale of Aladdin

Published Monday 20th of July 2015 11:45:51 AM

Students from the Lower School at ACS Cobham International School recently performed the Disney classic ‘Aladdin’ in front of friends, family and teachers. Performing the play at three separate performances over two days, the 69 students aged six to ten thrilled audiences with their singing, dancing and acting skills. The colourful scenery and the eye-catching array of costumes, created by staff and parent helpers, transported the audiences to a magical Middle Eastern world. Students began rehearsing for the performance in April with the support of a team of Lower School teachers, who took the roles of director, musical director, choreographer, producer, artistic director and stage crew manager. The stage crew manager worked with four students who helped with set changes and props. There was also a technical team to help with lighting and sound. Sue Aitsaadi, director and ACS Cobham Lower School music teacher, commented: “We enjoyed the whole process of putting together the production; the last few days when everything came into place was especially exciting. Seeing the set, sound, lights, costumes and make-up come together was brilliant and having the opportunity to use the wonderful space of the new Performing Arts Centre was very rewarding for everyone involved.”
