Brentwood School is today celebrating another year of creditable International Baccalaureate Diploma results. Among the individual students’ results was that of Nicole McKechnie who scored a world class 42 points. This places her in the top 1% of students according to the official IB website (ibo.org) and secures her place to read History at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University. Edward Bell and Benjamin Thomas also scored 42 points, which is equivalent to A*A*A* at A Level. Felix Mueller scored 41 points and Samuel Turnpenny scored 40 points. More Brentwood School students have got into the first choice universities than ever before, with students gaining places at a wide range of universities including UCL, Exeter, Bath, Glasgow, Leicester, St Andrews and Miami. Taking into account all the results for this year’s cohort, the School’s average point score was 35, which is equivalent to an AAB at A Level, and maintains the School’s impressive six-year average point score of 35 points. Headmaster Ian Davies said: “I am very pleased with the IB Diploma results this year and the students can be justifiably proud of their hard work and all-round commitment. The IB Diploma is a perfect fit to the Brentwood education philosophy which believes in nurturing well-rounded and intellectually adept individuals. Our IB Diploma students do exceptionally well at university and have excellent job prospects.”
