Double Olympian makes waves at ACS Cobham

Double Olympian, World and European medallist and former British and European record holder, Edward Sinclair recently inspired young competitive swimmers at ACS Cobham. The local students from ACS Cobham and surrounding schools, whose abilities range from competitive to national level, signed up to the course for expert training with the Olympian. Mastering their skills in the ACS Cobham 25 metre pool, swimmers received first hand individual feedback from Edward during pool and video analysis sessions. Throughout the action-packed day, swimmers brushed up on their technique on all four strokes and starts and turns, inspired by guidance from role model and accomplished swimmer Ed. To end the day, students and parents were invited for a question and answer session with the Olympian. Alison Pugh, Activity Camps Director at ACS Cobham, commented: “It was a real privilege to welcome Ed to ACS Cobham and see his expertise and skills motivating the students from the local area. All the swimmers were truly inspired to hear about his experiences as an Olympian and learn from such an accomplished sportsman.” Ed represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games, Sydney in 2000 and in Athens in 2004; he also competed at six European Championships winning five medals and three World Championships winning three medals. As well as these awards, Ed has broken the British record several times during his swimming career, as an individual in the 200m Freestyle event and as part of the 4 x 200m Freestyle relay team. Ed and the Maximum Performances team will be running more workshops at ACS Cobham across the year so that more eager swimmers can take part in the future.
