ACS Hillingdon International School played host for an International School Sports Tournament (ISST) welcoming seven teams for a two day soccer competition. The Hillingdon Hawks Division Two Girls Team represented the school against European schools including Bonn International School, Zurich International School and St John’s International School. Iver Fields, ACS Hillingdon’s sports ground, provided the venue for the competition, which was played in a round-robin with the top two teams from each group progressing into the semi-finals. After a tough two days the Hillingdon Hawks beat The American International School in Vienna 1 – 0 to finish the tournament on a high and secure their ISST Division Two ranking. The successful tournament, organised by ACS Hillingdon Athletic Director, Jett Russell and Athletic Secretary Emma O’Connor, drew to an official close when the International School of Brussels was presented with the winner’s trophy by Hillingdon Hawks coach, Adam Hoult. Reflecting upon the competition and its success, Adam said, “The best part of the tournament was seeing the girls develop their knowledge and understanding of the game throughout each day of the tournament. “Being in an environment that was all about football was a great experience for the girls and we look forward to building on this for future games.”
