Talented musicians from a number of schools and conservatories, including ACS Egham High School students Nick Wong and Ileena Johnson, received a standing ovation as they performed at the Young Inspirations music concert. The ten inspiring musicians, from Ratcliffe College, Windsor Piano School, St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School, The Purcell School and Menuhin School, Royal College of Music and the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne impressed the audience of family, friends and music aficionados with a range of classical and contemporary pieces. Before the concert the recital performers, aged between seven and 17, were thrilled to meet and speak with highly respected BBC Proms composer, Naresh Sohal, and globally renowned composer, Alexander Levine. ACS Egham Music Coordinator and Young Inspirations organiser, Irina Walters, was impressed with the calibre of performances on the night, she commented: “The standard of the recital was outstanding and I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication shown by the performers. All of them have bright musical careers ahead of them. The evening truly was our most successful Young Inspirations concert yet!”
