Five upcoming artists from ACS Egham International School showcased their artwork to friends and family at an exhibition last week. Ana Patkovic, Tessa Johnstone, Regan Sonderman, Madison Lewis and Rebecca Stevenson, aged 17 – 18, each displayed a number of projects they had been working on as part of their final assessment for their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Art course. The students each drew upon personal experiences to create their pieces based on moving from one culture to another, family, and fantasy. The school’s Assembly Room and Foyer were transformed into a gallery for the five day exhibition and reception with a magnitude of art techniques on show including, painting, print making, photography, clay sculpture and life-drawing. Andrew Vaughan, Head of the Arts Department at ACS Egham, commented on the success of the event: “The exhibition is the first time all of the students’ work has been presented together. It is a wonderful way to celebrate with family and friends the hard work everyone has put into their art course. “The personalities and the identities of the each student really shine through in their work. The projects are a great illustration of their personal and individual journeys through the two years of IB.”
