Across the country, the Intermediate Maths Challenge this year was taken by over a quarter of a million children. From that huge field fewer than 1 percent of participants are invited to sit the Intermediate Maths Olympiads. This year four St Swithun's students were invited to attend.

Kitty Ma, Gladys Tyen and Charlotte Mitchell sat the Year 10 Olympiad. Sophia Lee sat the Year 11 Olympiad.

Gladys was awarded a certificate of Merit for the Year 10 Olympiad. In addition, her performance on the Intermediate Maths Challenge earned her an invitation to a UK Maths Trust Summer School for a group of 40 gifted young Mathematicians from across the country. Mr Stephen Power, Head of Mathematics at St Swithun's says 'This is a truly exceptional achievement'.

Charlotte was awarded a certificate of Distinction with a score that puts her in the top 120 in the country. A superb achievement.

Sophia and Kitty were awarded Certificates of Merit, putting them in the top 500 of their years nationally.
