Thorpe House nursery has many strengths, the biggest of which is the class size. Keeping the class sizes small – between 13-15 boys really helps with 2 teachers - as it is manageable and the teachers can focus on some of the boys who are shy or maybe struggling to communicate. The facilities at the nursery are brilliant - the field, mud kitchen, tents, tortoises – these all keep busy minds’ active! Also the planned activities by the teachers Mrs Treves and Mrs Bedwell are genius and encourage learning eg the school trips, for example to Pizza Express – the boys learned how to cook in a fun way. One week saw a police man and a fireman come into the school to talk to the boys. Our son couldn’t stop talking about the fire engine! Our son has developed so much with Thorpe House’s help since he joined in September, and it is attributable to the hard work of Mrs Bedwell and Mrs Treves who really look after him and care for him. Alexander has become more confident, his speech has become stronger and he knows how to read numbers and letters which is amazing. He has become more inquisitive and very enthusiastic about everything he does. He questions everything and he also enjoys singing which is lovely and playing on his own. Something of those things he couldn’t do before he started Thorpe.
