ACS Hillingdon students and staff recently visited Badajoz, Spain, on a Spanish exchange trip. Students travelled to Ciudad Jardin School to visit their exchange partners. Students visited several iconic sites, including the museum and Roman theatre in Merida; Olivenza, the picturesque Spanish town, and Trujillo; the municipality located in the province of Caceres. Students even crossed country borders, experiencing Portuguese culture in Elvas and Lisbon. There were 17 students on the trip, with 18 students hosting Spanish students when they visited London earlier this year. During their stay in April, Spanish students and their ACS partners visited Wembley, went sightseeing around London, and had a guided tour of Oxford and the stunning Christchurch College. Emmet Hudson, Head of Languages, commented: “The Spanish trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and staff involved. It is lovely to see our students developing friendships with their Spanish counterparts, which is what the exchange is all about. It allows our students to have an insight into a world very different to ACS, and vice versa, not to mention motivating them to practice their language skills.”
