Culford pupil Jack Bowyer (14) has been invited to attend the British Summer Swimming Nationals in Sheffield this July. After putting in strong performances over the past three months, Jack is placed amongst the top young swimmers in the UK. This is partly due to his impressive results at the Regional Age Championships, where Jack was crowned Regional Champion in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly finals. He will now race against the best young swimmers in Britain at the Nationals in three events; the 50m Butterfly, 100m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke. Jack is currently ranked 3rd in Great Britain for his age group in the 50m Butterfly, 10th in the 100m Butterfly and 12th in the 50m Backstroke. Dan Pilbrow, Head of Performance Swimming at Culford, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by Jack, and is testament to the hard work and attitude that he brings to his training sessions on a daily basis.” Just missing out on a place in the Nationals were Niamh Perry (14), who was less than 0.10 of a second from qualifying, and Taylor Bowen (15) who also came within a few places of qualifying.
